📝 Pattern
Bag:
- R1: ch 16, (turn)14 hdc(start from 2nd chain from hook, mark 1st hdc), 3 hdc in last chain, (turn your work) 13 hdc, 2 hdc in last chain (skip the turning chain), slst in the marked hdc [32]
- R2-8: ch 1, 32 hdc, slst [32]
Handle:
- 6 hdc, slst in 2nd hdc, {ch1(mark), 1 hdc in next 3 stitches , slst in marked chain} repeat 16 times(or however long you want your handle to be), for the last round make 2 hdc in one stitch, so that there are 6 hdc at the end of the handle to attach to the body of the bag. make 6 slip stitches to join the handle to the bag body(make sure the handle is attached symmetrically to the bag).
- Cut the yarn and hide any lose ends.
💡 Points to keep in mind
When working with chunky or chenille yarn, avoid making your stitches too tight, it can make it tricky to see the stitches and insert your hook.
Make a habit of marking the first or last stitch of the round to keep track of your stitches.
Take your time and enjoy each stitch; there’s no need to rush.
Don’t be afraid to frog (undo) your stitches and redo your work. It’s all part of the learning process.
Remember, practice makes perfect! Your stitches will get better with time, so focus on having fun and enjoying the process.
